What is Candidate Experience?

It is nothing else than how candidates feel about your company once they experience your hiring process. Because the interview or hiring process is the primary stage to meet or interact with each other. And, the feelings of a candidate (whether bad or good) towards your company or culture can only influence candidates in their decision to apply. However, 45% of candidates had either searched or knew a company before applying there for a job, according to the survey.

Survey says that candidate experience determines how much a company values its employees.

Whether it is negative or positive, reviews about a company’s recruitment process come from candidates only. And, it can now easily get spread all because of social media which can either make a company’s reputation or may down it.  

So, here are some tips to improve the candidate experience at each stage of the hiring process:

Use the Best Technology:

Like other segments, technology plays a good role in recruitment as well. Applicant Tracking System or ATS is a technology based on Artificial Intelligent (AI) which can help you to streamline or increase the process of recruitment. After job application, ATS software can also automate the communication process with the candidates. You can also engage your applied candidates with some poll questions. Sometimes candidates come far away from your location, so having a video call interview is the most advanced and best way to reach them.  It is not only hassle-free for a candidate but also works for your budget.

During the delivery of our parcel or food, we always like to stay updated with the status. Similarly, the candidate experience would significantly improve if employers could keep them posted of their status. So, without wasting candidates’ time, keep updating your candidates timely, because this is the thing a candidate expects from your end.

Hiring & On-boarding Process:

Many like you think that interview is the final step of the candidate experience, which is wrong. On boarding or hiring candidates is also a part of giving candidates a good experience. If it will be done ineffectively, it may make a candidate reconsider whether it is a good fit or not. Despite lots of paperwork, make on-boarding more practical to work and make candidate experience more positive towards your organization.
